Former Groupon CEO Andrew Mason Releases Album of Songs

Andrew Mason, former CEO and founder of Groupon ― Chicago’s fastest-growing tech company ― has written an album of songs titled, “Hardly Workin”.

Mason, who moved to San Francisco in April after leaving Groupon, says he was inspired to write the seven musical tracks after realizing that many of the more than 12-thousand young people he managed at Groupon came to work with a “minimal understanding of basic business wisdom.”

In his personal blog, Mason says that he would ask the under-25 millennial newbies if they had prepared for their new jobs by reading about entrepreneurship.

“Haven’t you read any business books? Good to Great? Winning? The One Minute Manager?”

Disappointingly, he says, most had not.

So, instead of writing another book that would not be read, Mason settled on music as a platform to reach young people, and wrote “motivational business music targeted at people newly entering the workforce.” The collection is slated for release on July 2nd on iTunes and Spotify.

Track List:

Look No Further
The Way to Work
My Door is Always Open
Risin’ Above the Pack
K.I.S.S.
Stretch
It’s Up to Us

Hopefully, the tracks are more than music to entrepreneurs’ ears. ❒
